Scarborough School District - Nutrition Program

ONLINE PAYMENT NOW AVAILABLE FOR SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM

We are pleased to announce that we have added new interactive software to help parents connect with the School Nutrition department.  MyNutrikids.com is a web site that links to our school meal payment system.  Parents may set up an account on MyNutrikids.com, which will allow them to prepay online for school meals and review a history of their children’s meal purchases.  Please go to your childs school, and click on the MyNutrikids link, then follow step-by-step instructions for setting up an account.

Mission Statement

The Scarborough School Nutrition Program provides safe, healthy and appetizing meals for our students. Our meals are planned using nutrient analysis which defines amounts of protein, calories, fat, and Vitamin A, Vitamin C, calcium and sodium that must be served for each age group.

The food is prepared and served in a clean safe environment. All school nutrition workers are trained and certified as sanitarians. Our healthy school meals help the students achieve academically and physically to the best of their abilities. It is well-documented in scientific data that a hungry child will not reach his/her greatest level of achievement. Healthy school meals provide a learning laboratory for the child to make good food choices that he/she will carry into his/her adult life.

  • Cost of Meals

Money may be put in a student account to be drawn on for any food or beverage purchase. You just have to send a check with your child's name, parent name, address and telephone number. We will debit the account and send you a reminder or notify your child when the account is $5.00 or less.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Food in the morning increases the student's ability to process information and makes them less tired as the day progresses. If morning is a very hurried time at your house, take advantage of the breakfast program provided at Wentworth, Middle and High Schools. Price for breakfast is $1.50.
