Each semester, the Adult Learning Center offers diploma classes
for adults seeking a high school diploma, as well as computer and
personal enrichment classes. If you are interested in a specific
class that is not currently offered, please let us know.

Need a few credits to earn a High School Diploma?
Students hoping to earn a high school diploma should contact our office at 730-5040. Regular day school students may take up to 2 courses each semester, at 0.5 credits each. Full-time adult ed students may take more than 2 classes, and classes will provide 1.0 credit each toward earning an Adult Education Diploma.
Special Programs of Note :
We Now Offer GED Testing Services: Scarborough Adult Learning Center will be offering GED Testing to community members.
Requirements for testing include an intake session and passing scores on the 5 GED pre-tests. Please call the Adult Education office (730-5040; ask for Terri) to schedule a meeting with the GED examiner. For answers to several Frequently Asked Questions about the GED - click here!

How to Register
You may register in two ways:
- Register in person between 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday
starting September 1st Closed Fridays and
school holidays in
Room A100 of the High School, or . . .
- Complete the registration form, and mail it with your check
to the Adult Learning Center (address above). Checks should be
made out to the Adult Learning Center.
We do not send confirmations. But we will notify you in advance if a class is canceled. We reserve the right to cancel programs that fail to meet the minimum enrollment requirement.
Non-resident Fee: Non-residents must pay a fee of $35 for each diploma course and $10 plus the specific course fee for any enrichment course.
Refund Policy: Refunds take approximately 3-4 weeks to process.

Class Schedule:
- Meeting dates and times are listed in the brochure.
- If school is canceled due to weather, classes are typically not
held. School department cancellations are announced on the radio
and television. However, should weather clear by evening class
time, studetns will be contacted by phone, and class maybe held.
