Welcome to Our School

Blue Point has 15 classrooms with the following grades:

• 5 Kindergarten classes accommodate all-day kindergarten
• 5 First Grades (2 looping classes)
• 5 Second Grades

We offer a full spectrum of services for our students that support and enrich their learning. All students have art, music, phys-ed and library every week.

We have special education programs that provide a team approach to teaching children with special needs. These include a resource room and a program for students with autisim. We offer speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy to students who qualify for these support services under special ed.

In addition we have programs in literacy and mathematics for students in the regular education program who simply need a little help.

Our social worker and shared guidance counselor work with small groups and whole classes to introduce our school-wide conflict resolution program, kelso's choices. They also cover topics such as making friends, changing families, and being safe.

Volunteers Are Welcome

Our daily activities are enriched by a wonderful group of volunteers who assist our staff and students in a variety of ways. Their tasks are many and range from photocopying, cutting out shapes and making books to providing one to one tutoring help to students. We have over 90 volunteers committed to making our school a better place for everyone. If we need volunteers for a school project you will read about it in the monthly newsletter. Teachers request volunteers for their classrooms. We encourage parents to be involved in whatever way their schedules allow.

Lunch

School lunch costs $2.25 and comes with milk.
Students may bring in their own lunch and purchase milk for just $.35.

Snack milk is also $.35, if you choose to purchase it. Additionally small waters are available FOR SNACK ONLY - and costs $.50
