Student Recognition
SHS students are always in the news, being recognized for
their academic, athletic, musical, and artistic abilities, as
well as for their leadership roles. This page allows you to
view some of the more recent examples of outstanding
performers from our school.
National Honor Society:
The Induction Ceremony for new members of the National Honor Society was held November 10th.
Athletic Teams:
The Girls' and Boys' Cross Country Teams were named Western Maine Class A Champions on Saturday, October 21st. They competed for State titles on Saturday, November 4th with the Girls' Team finishing 3rd with the individual winner honors going to Eric Jesseman. The Boys' Team were victorious bringing home the State Class A Cross Country Title for 2006.
The Boys' Soccer Team became Western Maine Class A Champions on Monday, October 30 and competed for the State Class A title on Saturday, November 4th at Windham. The came in second to Bangor in the second overtime.
Girls' soccer, volleyball and field hockey also qualified for post-season competition.
Music Department:
District I Honors Music Festival - This festival is run at the end of January and is by audition. 34 students from Scarborough High were selected: 5 to Treble Choir, 9 to Mixed Choir, 17 to Concert Band, 2 to Choir as well as band and 1 to Concert Band and Jazz Band.
Jazz All State – Scarborough High School hosted Jazz All State this year on January 4, 5, and 6, 2007. We had 1 student in Jazz Choir, 2 students in Jazz Band, and 1 student in Honors Jazz Band.

All State Chorus: Kristen Kerr, Aileen Andrews, Janelle Kleftis and Joe McLeod
All State Band: Allison Brusie, Michael Thurlow and Allie Solender
