Clay BugsA brief art history lesson on the life of one of America's most famous female artists, Georgia O'Keeffe, was presented to students. Working with a theme that Ms. O'Keeffe herself enjoyed, they created floral compositions that emphasized the flowing lines and forms of desert flowers. With a limited palette, complementary colors plus black and white, they painted in many shades, tints and tones. These value changes helped to create soft looking forms. To personalize their paintings, students added a little twist .....bugs, which then "morphed" into 3D sculptures!! |
